#vanconversion
We’re Rina, Michael (and our 2 dogs Maui and Maru). We’re currently living in our DIY Sprinter camper van full time. We finished our van conversion in December of 2020, moved out of our house and into the van, and we’ve been living in it ever since. We’re loving van life and we have been traveling around the US, exploring new places and meeting new people. We especially enjoy traveling to national parks and finding cool places we can camp and hike. So far our journey has been absolutely incredible. We’ve even documented vlogs of our journey! Follow us as we explore America in our tiny home on wheels!

Daniel is a financial advisor and vanlife enthusiast based in southwest VA. When he’s not giving financial advice or managing investments, he enjoys renovating properties, real estate investing, drinking coffee, hanging out with friends, spending weekend trips in his camper van, and exploring the outdoors on a hiking or biking trail in his hometown of Roanoke, VA and beyond.

“On social media, we’re known as ‘The Rugged Outdoorsmen’, (JB, Michele & Mike) we’re a veteran family with homegrown values. We have 4 boys, three are grown and out on their own adventures, Mike- age 12 is our youngest. Our principles as a family, are to live a positive, healthy lifestyle and have a positive impact on others.
We take pride in doing what’s right, and it starts with simple things, like picking up trash from the sidewalk instead of walking on past. It’s the little things that make a difference. We believe in karma and providence.
We love to explore new places that are off the beaten path and camping in the wild- ‘Boondocking’.
I’d say that we are part-time Overlanders, traveling to lesser-known places where we’re free to roam, with few restrictions.
Going to places like National Monuments, Preserves, and National forests, and exploring public lands. Setting up camp in these places, we can freelance hike and explore where few have gone, on the paths we create.
Exploring these places has allowed us to immerse ourselves in the wild and experience all the outdoors has to offer.
We did a custom build using a 2017 Ford E-450 chassis with a 24’ Thor class-C motorcoach as our base. Our rig was designed and modified to get us to these unique locations across the continent, and we’re excited to share our build with the VanFest community.”

“As an outdoor wilderness guide, I’m either off grid, or chilling and adventuring in my Nissan, NV 2500, Lizzie.
We travel mostly through the Rockies inviting others into deep connection, wholeness and the quality reflection the outdoors brings!
I’m stoked to brag on my family for helping me totally deck out my home on wheels, all in house!”

“We are a messy family of three with one wild, feral dingo pup and one slightly unhinged hiking hamster. We live in a Ram ProMaster 2500 full time chasing mountains. Our home is completely off grid with solar, water and propane cooking. We love the unique design with a back nook for our teenage daughter and pocket door to give the adults some needed privacy. We just love our little home on wheels.”

This project has been more fun/hard/amazing then I ever thought it could be. Though I totally see how people give up in the middle of their build, we are SO EXCITED to see the end result! With all of our June shows being cancelled, we find that we have a little more time to finish our dream home.

“We’re Chris and Jessie (aka Acrovan Adventures) and we are an adventure couple living full-time in our self-converted skoolie. We’ve been on the road for almost two years (first year in a van) and we love visiting new national parks, local breweries and taking the motorcycle for a spin. We really loved our van build, but we both work remote 9-5 jobs and needed a little extra space, so we upgraded to our skoolie and absolutely love it. Luckily, we were also able to bring the motorcycle so we can ditch the school bus and have a bit more flexibility and freedom while exploring new places. We’re so excited to meet you and share our experience living on the road!”

“Hi I’m Daphne aka Flutist With A Van! I teach virtual flute and piano lessons from my self-converted van providing my student inspiration through travel. This is the second Ford Transit my dog Izzy and I have called home since jumping into vanlife in 2020 with no prior building experience. In 2021 my first van was tragically totalled in an accident, a vanlifers worst nightmare. I returned safely to my home state of NY to rebuild bigger and better. I hit the road again in January with my partner Matt in my new self converted van you see here. We designed this van for music making, cooking elaborate meals, adventure and comfortable living for three. This year we spent the winter in Florida, the spring in the desert and the summer in Alaska. Now that we’re back in the lower 48 we are thrilled to come to Utah and share this one of a kind home we built, with you, at VanFest! “
